When Ma fell seriously ill, we rushed her to the hospital. It was a full-blown emergency — scary, stressful, the works. He was worried and pacing in his usual tightly-wound way.
The next day, when Ma was feeling a little better, we all went to visit her. He sat by her side, holding a tiny scrap of paper.
“What’s that?” I asked.
He looked at me like I was the strange one.“It’s a list of my medicines,” he said. “She’ll need to buy them for me.”
Classic.
No frills, no fuss. Just quietly confident that the household would resume its natural order. 😂
