The Ear Piercing Bet

I was in class 8 and desperate for a second ear piercing. Mom refused — despite hours of pleading.

Eventually we made a bet: if I could get Nanaji to take us kids to a movie alone at the multiplex, she’d allow the piercing. She was sure he’d say no — he always preferred renting DVDs from Raja Library.

So I asked. And as expected, he said no… until I told him about the bet.

Next thing mom knew, we had tickets in hand and Nanaji took us all to see Hum Tum at INOX.

Credit to Mom — she kept her word and let me get the piercing.
